Natural options for upper lip hair removal
So, we’ve been through some hair removaloptions, some of them standard procedures, some more upgraded, like the IPL and Laser devices found in today’s at home treatment market. Here, we’ll go through some natural options, which some practitioners claim will not only remove hair but also reduce fairly the rate it grows back and, which might even result in a permanent solution.
1. Turmeric and Milk
Using a 1:1 proportion, mix 1 TBSP of each (turmeric and milk) and then use your fingers to gently apply onto upper lip. Leave it for about 20 minutes, and remove it by rubbing in the opposite direction of hair growth.Rinse with cold water.
2. Gelatin and Essential Oils
Mix 1TBSP of unflavored gelatin, 1 1/2 tsp of milk and 3 drops of lavender essential oil. Heat on high for 12 seconds on the microwave. Let it cool a bit and with a popsicle stick apply onto your upper lip. Once dried, peel it off and rinse with cold water.
3. Egg White
Mix 1 egg white with 1/2 tsp of corn flour and 1 TBSP of sugar until you get a smooth paste. Use your fingers to apply onto your upper lip. Leave it for about 20 minutes, and remove it by peeling in the opposite direction of hair growth. Then, rinse with cold water.
4. Honey
Many use honey as well as a milder waxing version. For that, you should mix 1 TBSP of honey and 1/2 TBSP of lemon juice. Apply onto your upper lip and leave it for about 20 minutes. Remove it gently with a warm soaked cloth and rinse with cool water afterwards.
5. Sugar waxing
Another mild version of waxing, place four chamomile ta bags in a saucepan, bring to boil for 2 minutes, and then let cool for half an hour. Remove 1/4 cup of the infused water in a spare saucepan, and the tea bags aside. Over medium heat, add 2 cups of sugar and 1/4 cup of lemon juice, freshly squeezed, bring to a boil for a few minutes. Let it cool on a bowl. With a popsicle stick, apply onto your upper lip, and with a cotton strip, strip it quickly.
The thing with the many hair removal methods above is the temporary or short-term results. Now, in a not so natural note, if you’re seeking for a more permanent solution, you should consider laser hair removal. At home treatments are cost-effective and you can benefit from it at the comfort of your home. Laser hair removal can be performed anywhere on the face, such as upper lip and chin, be careful to avoid around the eyelids and surrounding areas. Always follow these three basic steps:
- Cleanse your face and shave (not waxing)
- Select proper level treatment and place the laser over area to treat, press start
- Repeat every two weeks, or as per instructions, until desired results.
Make sure to always read the instructions!! And if gets a bit red or tender, apply ice for soothing.
Remember, there’s no guarantee on what will work best for you. And each body responds differently.
